Ya just gotta...

Hey kids, well what a whirlwind weekend! My closest friend Shaun came in to town from Orlando this past weekend and I'm still hurting. Thursday we did the Maxim magazine party downtown, and it was cool, but I think the Buffalo party was shortchanged. We did not have the "hot 100" girls dancing in cages, but rather their stunt doubles. Unfortunate, because I know the Miami party and the L.A. will have the real deal. Friday and Saturday were spent at the Regatta in good ol' Youngstown, NY. If you haven't been there, you need to go, if you have been there, you know what a great time it is. All in all a splendid, but tiring weekend.

-In other news, I finished Harry Potter:and the Deathly Hallows. I'm sad it has ended, I shall miss my time spent reading about Hogwart's and everyflavor beans, and Quidditch.

All things come to an end...

Well kids, I've started reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It's fantastic so far, as to be expected, but I'm sad. I know it's the last book, but I don't want it to be. I've enjoyed all of them so much, I'd love to read more. It's the nature of things to end though. I'll let you know what I think when I've finished.

-In other news, I started playing LOTR: The Third Age. Now I'm not known for my love of RPGs. In fact the only one I've ever liked was Knights of the Old Republic, but this game is fantastic and I'm addicted!

Big Hitter the Lama...

Hey kids, well I went hit the links for 18 holes today and shot a new personal best of 104. Getting ever closer to breaking that 100 mark. The goal is to have that achieved by the end of the golf season this year. Here's hoping!

-In other news, I watched a few films this week:

The Last Mimzy-very cute movie. Definitely geared towards families but I enjoyed it very much.

Shooter-Nothing spectacular. Danny Glover was horrible, as was Ned Beatty. The plot was pretty lame, and the "twists" were very generic. Could have been a lot better, too bad it wasn't.

Because I said so...-well sometimes you have to watch some movies with the wife. This was definitely a girl's movie.

I also saw Knocked Up in the theatre. That was a hilarious movie. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

It rocked...Again...

Hey kids, well I went to see The White Stripes at the Molson Amphitheate in Toronto, again. The results, were amazing...again. The set this time, for the Icky Thump tour, was far less elaborate than 2005's Get Behind Me Satan tour. Very old school WS no flash just a red and black background. They blew away a capacity crowd of nearly 20,000. The guitar playing of Jack White is second to none in the modern rock era. Watching him play slide guitar, or pounding out power chords and slick solos is phenomenal. (The playing piano with one hand whilst playing guitar with the other was mind-blowing as well) Meg White, as I've said time and time again is far under-appreciated by the media. Her seamless transitions and timing changes show her perfect synchronization with Jack's manic guitar. I can't remember every song but here's a partial list (not in order, because I really don't remember that):

Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground
Hotel Yorba
You're Pretty Good Lookin' (For a Girl)
Hello Operator
Icky Thump
Effect and Cause
I'm Slowly Turning Into You
Fell in Love With A Girl
Black Math
My Doorbell
We Are Going to Be Friends
I Think I Smell A Rat
Ball And Biscuit
I'm a Martyr For My Love For You
In the Cold, Cold Night
When I Hear My Name
Seven Nation Army
Boll Weevil

Sports Recap...

Ok kids, well today 3 of my good friends and I hit the links for a round of 18. I am proud to say I got my 4th ever par, and hit a lifetime best 107. Not great, but I'll take it.

-In other news, The Buffalo Sabres better make some impressive signings to make up for the loss of our 2 captains. Briere to Philly, and Drury to NY Rangers. I'm not too upset with Briere's move, but Drury to the Rangers? I had more respect for him than that, too bad he didn't have that much for himself. Well it should be fun come October.
